This Week's Challenges.

Summer of Color:  Week 3

Delight in imperfection
The color pallet this week is Lavender & Grey with a Smudge, Splash or Pop of Plum.  To get inspired I scrolled through my Inspiring Art Journal Pages board on Pinterest.  I knew I wanted something with texture, which used supplies I already had.  This is when I found this, layering with happy colors by One Lucky Day.  While I was limited to the 3 colors, I found I could follow her process and adapt it to this challenge.  The fun part was painting with my fingers, getting paint under my nails, ruining my nail polish.  I followed her advice and didn't think too much about where to put the paint.  I  found myself for the first time following my intuition, adding, wiping away, smudging… very therapeutic!

Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt:

I had a rather successful week for this challenge.  Last Saturday the new Farmer’s Market opened downtown and the annual outdoor art show was taking place; the perfect opportunity for some photo scavenging.
First stop, taking a photo of the street heading into downtown.
#6: Urban Street Scene
As we were driving I saw this street lamp and remembered I needed that!

#17: A lamp post
While at the art show I got lucky.  The hubby spotted this young woman practicing her juggling skills away from the crowd in the shade of some trees.
#15: A Juggler
Found this display of wonderfully modern, colorful bird houses.
Alternative B: A bird house
I captured this sunrise while taking the dog out for her morning constitutional.
#13: A sunrise
I almost missed this one.  The hubby and I were out for a date night and the new restaurant where we were dining had this out on the patio.
#18: A water fall
I know every week is not going to be as successful as this but crossing the juggler of the list was a huge relief!
