Get up. Get Dressed. Paint.: Blue Sky Thinking

Created this spread in my Winter Blues altered book.  The sun was so brilliant and radiant on this blistery, cold afternoon I had to stop to photograph it.  This Willie Nelson song is one of my favorites.

The names of the paints on this paint chip perfectly fit in with the theme.

Loving the effect of the blue Color Shift paint.

I stumbled on a new technique:, embossing the torn edges of the vellum paper.  Here I used a bright blue and  snowflake tinsel embossing powder by Ranger.

Get up. Get Dressed. Paint.: Winter Blues

Reconnecting with my Winter Blues altered book.

These feather were created by painting white acrylic through a stencil on blue card stock.  After allowing to dry, I  placed the stencil back over the paint then sprinkled Infusions in Violet Storms, Sleight Blue, and In the Blue then lightly spraying with water to activate the Infusions. You can view this technique HERE.

Get up. Get dressed. Paint.: blue poppies

A page in my Winters Blues altered book.

I tore these flowers from a piece of scrapbook paper for the corners.

Using Donna Downey's poppies stamps, Distress paint in broken china and blue glitter glue to create matching flowers for the center.

Blue quotes for the pockets from the Seize the Day desk calendar.

Now that it's spring I will have to shift my focus from working on this to my Spring journal.  I did not make as much headway in this altered book as I wanted. Having started over twice on this project I think I have figured out what I want from it now.
