Painting beautiful blooms with Rae Missigman's 15 MINUTES OF MIXED MEDIA©. I had been looking
forward to creating this page for several weeks in anticipation of the arrival
of her new stamp set, Boxy Blooms. I had pre ordered them and they finally arrived
mid-week!
I started with a
page that I had painted turquoise green (not sure why) but I needed to paint over it as I am nearing the end of this journal; only 4 pages left! This seemed like the perfect page to paint some blooms.
What I learned
- When I scrape or brush the leftover paint from a project onto a blank page I need to brush it around the edges of the pages rather than in the center, creating a frame of sorts.
- I can add to a stamped image, extending it or drawing it larger using a Stabio pencil or permanent pen. Who knew!
- I had an ahaa moment: I overthink when creating pages. Keeping it simple, using a small amount of supplies and not feeling like I have to add a lot of texture makes the process more fun and intuitive.

ReplyDeleteYour journal pages are so colorful and charming. I adore them.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful page Diane! Your journalling style is really evolving! I love that turquoise, yumm! You've asked me about my Play Journal - it's just a cheap notebook with ruled lines. I stuck every second page together and use them for cleaning off my brayer when gelli printing. Because it was so cheap, like 2 dollars in US money, I feel a lot more free to create in it. I've got a large Dylusions too, but it's still empty! I'm afraid to touch it!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is all so happy and beautiful! Amazing Diane!
