Another early morning painting session with Rae Missigman’s
SUMMER
RE-RUN SERIES - 15 MINUTE FAVORITES.
This is week 17 of this painting journey and I find I still look forward
to getting up with my morning coffee and painting the morning away.
Do you
have a journal in which you allow yourself to practice and learn; no judgement
just a place to play? If so, please
leave a comment on how it helps you in your creative journey.
SOC week 6: orange + orange + blue
By coincidence, this was the quote on my Seize
the Day calendar yesterday. I have
been focusing on cleaning, organizing, and purging my home, trying to regain
some control after the looong school
year. This quote spoke to me, reminding
me of my commitment and my One Little Word, simplify. I chose to use the dandelion seed
stencil because of its association with growth,
warmth, clarity, healing, radiance, and illumination. Most of us can remember making a wish then blowing
on a dandelion seed head. My wish is
purge my home of everything we don’t need and have a less cluttered life.
Colors used:
Dina Wakley
tangerine
Dylusions ink spray
in squeezed orange
Apple Barrel laguna

Wow, I just love your colors and textures and details. What a great piece. And of course I like the quote. Years ago I read a book called "Seize the Divine Moment". I'm have tried to do that and have had some rather special divine moments in my journey of life.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote and fabulous page. Just love the textures and all the interest. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLove these pages and that quote too! I once made an art journal just for basic techniques and practice -even made little cards with an explanation of each technique but now I feel like every page I create in any journal is a matter of practice and play!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pages! Nice quote on your SOC-entry :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely work! I don't really practice in my journal, I just paint my pieces and that's it!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty work...I love how you put colour together so perfectly!!

Thank you! xo
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with the Summer of Color colors this week! Your work of art is amazing and so cool that you found the quote you used on your Seize the Day calendar the day before! I love your first pages, too. They are so pretty and creative! It has been a pleasure following you through the SOC this year! Hugs, Sharon
ReplyDeleteooow super, I love your page, great colours and texture
ReplyDeleteGorgeous SOC piece, BJ
ReplyDeleteI really like all of the textures, layers and the quote too! How you used the colours of orange and blue are very appealing.
ReplyDeleteDecluttering is always a goal for me too! I have to declutter my work space both at my art desk and in my classroom daily in order for me to be able to think clearly and get my creative juices flowing!
Thank you for sharing!
