What's On Your Work desk? Wednesday 271

I was sitting at the computer when I looked over to see Allistair had sprawled out on the middle of my work table.  His head was bathed in sunlight and he looked like he was settled in for his morning nap.
Organizing paints.: putting the color on the lid then labeling: G - glitter, N - neon, M-metallic
My desk is fairly empty as I still struggle with lack of creativity.  I had several swaps due and managed to get them done.  I have focused my energies on getting things organized and into a useful bins and baskets.
This is not the intended use for this basket!
After having used the new work table  for two weeks now I want to switch the computer to the other end closest to the door and have my workspace where the computer sits. I find myself getting up to often to get things that are no longer within in an arms reach.  There is no flow to my work.   Moving the computer means more work but hoping it will help get my creativity flowing again.

Creating

Rolo: Letter G
This Rolodex card is for a series that runs through the alphabet.   I sprayed Dylusions ink spay though a stencil then used modeling paste with a goldfish stencil.  After it dried I painted the fish with Silks acrylic glaze.  Simple yet fun.
ATC: black & white with a touch of green
This ATC is the 4th in an ongoing series.  I use black card stock then lay a piece of drywall tape over it.  I push modeling paste through a stencil.  When dried I use Delusions spray ink in black marble, perfect pearl, then a spritz of white linen.  When dried I rubbed in  Viva Inks gold in green/ yellow.

Thank you for stopping by and a special thank you to all those who left wonderful and encouraging comments last week.  This creative slump will pass...just wish it would do so more quickly!

Joining in on the fun of peeking through other people's creative workdeasks at What's On Your Work desk? Wednesday.

  1. Enjoyed your workspace! I didn't participate this week but am browsing around. I noticed your link from the WOYWW site has an extra character it and it doesn't connect to your page without editing the address bar. Hopefully folks will figure it out and you'll get more visits!

  2. You have a lot on your mind and going on right now, it is always hard to be creative in that kind of environment.

  3. I love your ATC card! When you're in a creative slump I think it's really important to get that sense of play back. How about scaling it up to a bigger size painting and seeing what else you add to it?
Or . . . maybe watch the video I followed in my post. It's a fun and playful project and, since it's in German, your inner critic will find it harder to get a grip. :-)
Or . . . destroy something you've done but don't like, i.e. pull bits off it, splodge paints on it etc. That can be a great way to get moving again. Feels very therapeutic!
Hope you have a fun week.
Thanks for visiting my site and for your wonderfully enthusiastic comments!

  4. Cat in the basket, huh? That made me laugh! Mine get into all sorts of daft places too.
I was particularly struck by your résumé right at the top of the page. My son has just had a big disappointment with his exams and isn't going to be able to pursue what he'd intended. I might just show him what you've written, it may help.....

  8. I LOVE the texture and minimal color use in your gorgeous and very dramatic ATC. I think rearranging your studio is a marvelous way to get the creative juices flowing as you rediscover buried materials and see things in a different light. Thank you for your visit and have a blessed and very creative weekend!
PS - I read your post about your fascinating genealogical explorations, and I love the photographs you posted.

  9. Hi Dianne, thanks for stopping by at mine, still trying to catch up with my visits, it's just been one of those weeks.
Love the texture on the ATC and your kitty. I am feeling a bit like you at the moment, I think I need a good clear out and have already started giving some stuff away, my cousin uses any spare crafting stuff with her girl guides.
Love the photos in the later post, I have a few belonging to my family and I am making a journal to display them in if I ever get it finished LOL!
    Happy crafting, Angela x 44
