Peeking at my messy desk and all that I created this week.

Okay, I admit it; I didn’t get around to clearing off cleaning up my work desk.  I made a feeble attempt but I got side tracked figuring out how I was going to lay out my St. Patrick’s Day ATC’s (in last week’s photo you could see where I had tossed the package on the end of the table after it when it arrived via mail).  So instead of putting it all away in order to start with a clean, uncluttered surface, I pushed everything around and began creating.  I laugh at this because when I began this creative journey last June my left-brain would not allow anything to be out of place or not be  put away.  As soon as I was done using something it got put back in its proper place. I NEVER would have thought I would get to a place where creativity and my right brain would take over!  This realization startles me somewhat.  I really am creating art!

Here is what I was busy creating this week:

ATC Challenge #7 Book-page

Moonstone ATC for March
St. Partick's Day ATC's
One Sentence a Day Journal
RAINBOW OF COLOURS - FLOWERS ATC - #1 Red Flower Flourish

RAINBOW OF COLOURS - FLOWERS ATC - #2 Yellow Flower Flourish

My messy but fun creative process for creating The flower ATC's

To Create the Flower:
·         Stamped the flower using MEMENTO in Lady Bug.
·         Traced the flower using Sakura Glaze Pen.
·         Once dried, I “colored in” the petals using  MEMENTO in Lady Bug
·         To give it a glimmer I went over the petals with Sakura GellyRolly Stardust pen (red), smudging                      it before it dried.
·         For center used dots of Recollection Glitter glue in Glitz & Chestnut

To create the base:
·         Stamped the flourish using Versafine in Onyz black
·         Colored parts of it in using Sakura GellyRoll Metallic (silver)
·         Cut red and white card stock to create squares
·         White square is outlined in same Sakura GellyRoll Meatllic  pen (silver).
·         Distressed the edge of the entire base with Tim Hotz Distress Ink (barn door)

I used a foam glue dot to adhere the flower to the base

  9. Wow you've been a busy lass now haven't ya? Sensational art, clever, unique and delightful. I love the lilac and how you entwined a vine around the message. It took me years until allowed myself the freedom to leave things ready to begin again. Now no problem when it's time to make space, I'll put some stuff away. Thanks for the visit and Thanks for sharing Carole #84

  10. What a lovely, creative workdesk. Your makes are vibrant and colourful. I try to be creative, but still insist on putting everything back once I've used it - then to realise I haven't finished with it yet and have to pull it out again!

Thanks for visiting my desk already (I'm number 87 I think). You asked about the adhesive fabric paper - so far, all I've done is covered a little box with it. The adhesive is nice and sticky and it hasn't peeled off (yet). It has great texture too. I haven't decided what else to do with it yet though.

    Have a great week x

  11. A messy desk is the sign of a busy crafter and that's got to be good. It's difficult to make just one thing and then tidy up because your brain is telling you all the time to start something else.
I am so pleased to see you making ATCs, I love them and make lots.
    Happy crafting, Angela x 63

  13. I always put things away right after I use them. I never let a mess build up. If I did, I wouldn't have any room, and my art would be stifled. I let that happen right before Christmas, and I realized I had made such a mess, I took longer to find something I needed on my desk than if I had put things away first. Of course, I always say it's whatever works best for YOU is how YOU should work.

You make awesome ATCs. I adore all of them, and they are all beautiful. Thanks for visiting me already and happy slightly belated WOYWW from #1.
