Gluebook: Found papers
Last
week I went on a cleaning spree; my desk, purse, and car were all targeted. I clean out my purse and car on a fairly
regular bases but my desk, well, that’s another post. As I was cleaning I found all kinds of interesting
pieces of paper that I had kept with the intention of adding them to an altered
book or art journal page. Then I got one
of those Oprah “aha!” moments and this gluebook page was created. Upon completion I thought it needed something but wasn’t sure what. This morning I remembered I had these callout
stickers sitting in my stash. They added
the perfect finishing touch!
Oh,
the frustrating process of photo editing…
Getting the color corrected is my biggest challenge. I am hoping this will solve itself when I get
a new phone that has a better camera.
Item # 8: tower
For
this photo I wanted something more aesthetically pleasing than a water or cell phone tower. This clock tower was part of the Bay City,
city hall.
Item #9: Someone or something
that is clearly out of place or doesn’t belong
I
thought this would be the hardest item to find and within 1 week I have 3
photos!
I
almost missed this one as I was so busy looking at the clouds (for item # 12: a
cloud in the shape of something) that I almost missed this. My husband had to turn the car around so I
could take the picture. At the edge of
this hay field blooms a hollyhock, all by itself. As I was taking the picture I noticed a bunch
of them blooming up next to the house across the street. A bird or the wind is probably the culprit for
the seeds migrating into the field.
Same
day, just a few miles from the hollyhocks we spotted these flag poles out in
the middle of farmland. Here were 5
flags in a corn field with no explanation as to why. Yup, had to stop and take a photo of them!
Last
week as I was entering the library I saw these snapdragons in full bloom in the
crack between the sidewalk and foundation.
Obviously they were not
planted there. The seeds somehow got in
the crack last year and found a way to sprout and bloom this year. Even though I already had taken 2 pictures
for this item I still had to snap this one.
Item #13: A fence
This
was an easy shot as this fence runs alongside our house. Cheating???
Perhaps but I HAD to sneak something U of M into one of my photos.
Item #14: A mosaic
I
found this mosaic in the Flint Institute of Art. I originally went in to purchase postcards
for the postcard exchanged I belong to (I will explain this in a later
post). Spirit of Cultural Development was design by Edmund Lewandowski
specifically for the FIA .
Item #16: a windmill
What
a beautiful site! As we were driving
towards Bay City these wind turbines loomed on the horizon.
Item #19: A fisherman Rogue River Dam,
Rockford, Michigan.
Did
not think I would find this one and I almost missed it. I was so engrossed in snapping photos of the
turtles sunning themselves on the rocks at the base of the dam that I didn’t
see this guy fishing.
While
the photo editing is giving me a headache, I am having a great time scavenging
for the photos. Go HERE

I used to edit all of my pics in Picassa before they took it away from us. Now I edit pics at PicMonkey. It's okay but not as good. My pics aren't great but life is too short to worry about it.
