The completed layout.
Halloween is this week which means super savings on Halloween crafting items; 60% off! I bought this unusual pad of paper which is actually heavy fabric. I placed the remnant of the piece I used in the bottom corner.
It makes for a rather thick layout so I won't be able to use a lot of it but I love the added texture it creates.Asking for prayers as I found out yesterday I am being transferred back to the high school as of Monday. Because I hold one of the few teaching certificates that allows me to teach all of the sciences I must fill a newly vacated position that teaches chemistry, biology, and physics. All difficult subjects but more so taking on all 3 at once. I barely have had time to adjust to elementary teaching and now am being sent back to purgatory. I will be packing up my classroom and moving it over the next 3 days. I can't put into words the stress I am feeling so asking for prayers of peace, calm, and much needed patience.

Great idea to collect some inspirational images like these. The colours are just amazing! Great find with the Halloween fabric - I love using bits of fabric in my paper projects - they add a nice textural dimension. So sorry to hear you're being transferred just as you're settling in. Why during term time? It must be disrupting for the children as well. Sounds like they don't know what they're doing. My thoughts are with you - I know change can be very stressful. I don't do change very well, myself. Hopefully, it will all work out in the end, even if it may not seem that way right now. Best wishes, zsuzsa PS. thanks for visiting earlier!
ReplyDeleteI like your collage, it captures fall completely. I try to follow the same guideline you gave by only placing the things on your desk you need, but I seem not to vigorous about that because after a while my desk seems to pile up with all sorts of things.
ReplyDeleteOh Diane. What a difficult week you are having to go through. I do trust that the move will be good (in the end!); that your stress levels will be gone; and that you will find enjoyment in teaching all three of the sciences. I take my hat off to you in having the qualifications to even be considered for such a task. Having failed physics and chemistry O levels when at school in a most spectacular fashion, I think you are brill. Will pray for you as you tackle such a huge challenge.
ReplyDeleteI love the autumn themed pages - how beautiful a season this is - the colours are so spectacular this year here in Britain. Shades of reds, oranges and yellows - with hints of purples - so bright they almost hurt the eyes.
Thanks for the visit, and the comments.
Take care dear lady. God bless.

Right, that is a bit of a challenge. But with the prayers and positive thoughts of your friends and your own self confidence (yes, drum it up!) you are going to be A Ok. I've put you on our prayer list of course, but you will be as calm as anything, because you know a darn lot more than those brats out there. Stay focused and you will cope and soon get used to it.
ReplyDeletePeace, calm, confidence, peace, calm, confidence,....

Hi Diane, you just do what's best for you. When I was teaching I was very good at nodding my head and agreeing with the Senior Management then you do what you know you can. That's good for you and better for the children to have a relaxed teacher. Hope you have a great week and happy woyww, Angela x 14.
ReplyDeleteyou found some beautiful images to collage... Good luck with the change - that sounds very drastic; it must be awful to be expected to just jump to something so different. I am sure you'll do great! Helen 3
ReplyDeleteHow challenging to have to start somewhere new. I've only had to do it a few times but the bonding you had with your earlier students makes it difficult to leave them. All the best. Love thos fall colours - great collage. Just finished a couple using photo scraps. (as well as my dreamboard)
ReplyDeleteI love Autumn, I've been wearing vintage orange/brown all week and had my nails painted orange as well.
ReplyDeleteYour journal pages are fabulous
