A Second Look on the 2nd with Altered book Lovers

There are no regrets in life, just lessons.

~Jennifer Aniston
I love this quote and it especially fitting for today, sharing with Second on the 2nd with Bleubeard and Elizabeth over at Altered Book Lovers.

I sooo regret giving this labor of love away!  I tried to recreate it for myself but I could never truly get into it. It sits in a box on the top shelf of my craft room, unfinished. I learned a hard lesson:  spend the time creating for yourself rather than for others.  I still swap but I keep it to ATC's, rolos (Rolodex cards), tip-ins or single art journal pages.

Spring Journal Completed!

Originally posted May 21, 2014.
After a month of work, it’s finally done and shipped off to its new owner.  All that is left is cleaning up my desk for the next project.  I have decided to not participate in anymore full journal swaps until I have had a chance to work on the 5 I have lying in wait for me to create for myself.  I also put off working in my art journals which I need to get back to.

  1. Love your video! What a beautiful art journal. It is so much fun looking back-what a great idea that is. Glad you came by my blog. I have bookmarked you and I'll be back again!

  2. I can see a lot of time and love went into that art journal--it is simply beautiful! It is such fun discovering new (to me) blogs--Can't wait to have a look around!

  3. What a beautiful journal. Enjoyed your video and chance to see all the pages.Hope you enjoy creating in your own journals. Thanks so much for stopping by.

  4. That is a really lovely swap piece you made.
I too find it difficult to make two of something.
Thank you for a very nice look at your beautiful journal.
Flowers and nature are a never ending source of inspiration to me.
Nice to mmet you at Elizabeth's Second look.

  5. I can never duplicate something I made either. I don't do many swaps but have given away a few original pieces, at least I kept pictures of them. Nice to meet you on Elizabeth's blog. Hope you will continue to join us there.

  6. I apologize for being so late visiting, because I was simply THRILLED that you joined us this month. Your art ALWAYS speaks to me. I just read an article on working in a series, and I confess, I often make several of one thing at the same time, just like my Quotes swap items. I can understand how hard it is to replicate something AFTER the piece has been sent on, though. I truly don't think I could do that. Like you, it would be too hard to replicate.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful entry with us and thanks for joining in with your Second look on the 2nd. Hope to see you here again, too.
