The Great Purge: Part 1

Yep!  It's time to purge.  I am hitting every one of the drawers getting rid of the stuff I no longer use, never did use or was gifted to me and I don't want/need.
Allistair is doing his part by trying to nap in this emptied drawer.  He couldn't get his entire body in no matter how much he adjusted which left me laughing almost to the point of hysteria.
Note: Allistair is not on the purge hit list!

I laid it all out on the table, sorted it then began making RAK envies to give away.

37 envies in all!  I will get them mailed out in the next week or so.

Wonderful mail arrived from Debbie and Sandra de.  I am adding the tag to my new tag journal.
Many thanks to both of you and all the wonderful deskers who swapped with me.  I deeply appreciate the encouraging comments about the ATC's and cards I swapped.  I was worried they were too plain and my style might not fit in.  You made those fears disappear and gave me confidence to continue on.  Thank you!

Lastly, want to share this mixed media piece I made for my Stop Pinning and Make Something! July link party:
Mixed Media on a brown paper sack

  1. Hi Diane. Thanks for popping over to mine and for your lovely comments. I really love the fact that the ATCs made for the swap were all different. Never feel yours are not suitable as I'm sure they contained just as much love put in them in the making.....thats the important ingredient :-)

  2. The Stop Pinning and Make Something party made me giggle! The whole reason I pin is to have some inspiration...but then I get too caught up in the pinning. Too funny. That tag is absolutely gorgeous, the golden colors and layers. Very rich. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #46

  3. That kitty is just so cute! I can imagine him shifting and moving trying to fit..gives me a big smile. I need to clear up some stuff in my studio as well...but just can't seem to do it instead of art..so the mess gets bigger and bigger..lol. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier <3 Shel@PaperOcotilloStudios #5

  4. I need to purge as well. My house is full of clutter and it feels a bit stressful to be here already sadly =(

  5. I laughed out loud at that photo of Alistair!!! Only cos my cats do daft things like that too. In fact, Ron my ginger cat is trying to get between me and the keyboard as I type...thank goodness for spell checker!
I think it's a great idea to have a purge occasionally....you see what you really want to keep, the RAKS spread the crafting goodwill and you have space to buy some more stash...oops, maybe not the last one :-). But it makes me feel great when I have a sort out.
Btw, I'm sorry for not getting back to you last week, time just slipped away but I do appreciate your comments and support.

  6. I don't have a Fuse - sorry if I confused you but I can see its uses and knowing me I will probably be tempted before long.
What a lovely idea to make RAK envies - that is very generous of you. Mailing costs are so high these days - hope you have people you can give them to.
Thanks for the lovely comment re my journal pages - you did mean me didn't you? In the hope that you did not mix me up with someone else I will post something another day (Thursday or Friday).
Hugs, Neet 18 (thanks for your visit to me)

  9. Alisdair made me giggle. Cats do like to get into boxes and drawers even if they don't fit in them....
How generous of you to make those RAK envies. As someone else mentioned, the postage is expensive.
Your ATC at the end is gorgeous. You are so talented!
    Have a great week,

  11. Hi Diane. Alistair obviously doesn't like to see an empty drawer, he's such a sweetie. I will do my best to photograph all the sewing machines though I have lent one out at the moment.
One of them is an embroidery machine and that is all it does as it is completely computerised.
I envy you for getting on with the Great Purge, really must do this too. Have a great week and happy woyww, Angela xXx 27

  13. Oh Alistair you are so beautiful, love him trying to be comfortable. wow what a clean out you are having, makes me want to do the same and get rid of stuff that I no longer use, on second thoughts I have to be home to do that and actually I would prefer to be crafting with my spare time, not purging. Your gifts received are wonderful, I don't know why you thought you style wouldn't fit in, you are an artist and one that I admire sincerely. I hope you have a wonderful week I am not joining in the desk this week just visiting.

    Hugs Eliza
    Happy WOYWW

  16. Second visit - should have said that the artwork on the brown bag reminded me of bees. I think if you did another similar but put bees on this one they would look lovely hanging together.
Hugs, Neet (just put another couple of journal pages up)
