It was a productive morning! While my intention to get right to painting as soon as I hit my office was once again waylaid by my bad habit of web surfing (how does that happen?) I got myself on track and painted.
Rae Missigman posted another one of her 15 Minutes of Mixed Media videos and this is my take.
What I learned:
- How to incorporate watercolor in with acrylic paint by using watercolor pencils and a water brush.
- When I want a thinner coat of paint, stick to using makeup sponges rather than using a paint brush.
- The Martha Stewart geranium is a thicker paint and I needed to thin it out more. I had to smudge a bit of white over it to tone it down.
Very pretty and yes this happens to all of us....we need a big sign...stay off social media!! It's a labyrinth to get lost in!!

ReplyDeleteHi Diane. I wanted to thank you for your comment on my blog last week. I too lived in a left brained world and sometimes find it hard to play. But the more I paint the more I relax and have fun with it. I think your practice of painting on Saturday sounds like a great way to begin a wonderful creative journey.
