I had looked through my Pinterest board looking for inspiration
and liked THIS heart ATC. I am always amazed how
different my completed card (above) is from the one I get inspiration from. Always
so very different.
The mixed media collage that was on my desk last week is
waiting to be completed, you can see it on my desk off to the right. I added modeling paste and paint but then the
inspiration stalled. I look at it,
searching for inspiration but nothing comes.
So it has been pushed aside waiting, hoping for a surge of …something …anything….
Sunset over Traverse City Bay |
I have never shared my passion for photography here. You can see my photos under Friday Finds, a wonderful place where I go to share the small finds of my week. Lately my photography has flourished, taking hundreds of photos, seeing the beauty in the small things throughout my day. I thought this might be a good time to share some of my work.
Field of sunflowers, Traverse City, MI |
School has started so I am knee deep in moving my classroom again
(urg!!!), getting lesson plans together and sitting through
endless boring PD’s (professional development meetings). One good thing, no more Chemistry or Physics,
I am teaching Biology this year, my passion.

ReplyDeleteWhat a busy, productive looking desk - I know only too well how frustrating it is when you can't quite get the effect you want! The ATC is gorgeous and I love the lace with the old text, they give it a lovely vintage feel. Thank you so much for stopping by my desk earlier, I hope you have a great week,

ReplyDeleteOh tell me about it...the amount of times I've tried to copy something off Pinterest and it might have come from Mars, the result is so different! So I'd say, don't worry about it...it doesn't matter if you can't replicate..do your own thing and enjoy it! The ATC is exquisite btw but my favourite photo of all are the Sunflowers. That is SUCH a funky, brilliant picture - I love it! I enjoy photography very much too but never share anywhere other than here occasionally. I'm going to have a look at your Friday finds!!

Gorgeous Sun flowers! I love that tray of metallic paints. I use them often. I'm also a big fan of ATC's. Thanks for visiting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Did you use a filter when taking the photos, or did you filter them in PhotoShop or Instagram? I had to giggle at all your attempts at perfection...I had one of those days yesterday. Fab ATC, lots to see. I love it when I am inspired by something and surprised when I see the finished project. Never even close! But always loved.

Lovely work on your desk and the ATC - and lovely photos, Diane. Sounds like an exciting year ahead at school if you can impart your passion to your pupils! All the best.
