The Great Purge Part 2

A delicious mess!  This is all the wonderful stuff I decided to keep after going through my stash of ephemera from swaps, magazine tear outs, and daily finds ( see The Great Purge Part 1). I have a SMASH book but never seemed to get around to getting this stuff "smashed" into it.  My resolve to purge, organize, and simplify lead me to getting this UFO off my To-Do list.

I found this cute little book on the discard table in the school library.  For some unknown reason I was drawn to it (had to have it) but then it just sat in my room...until this week.

I remembered THIS pin on one of my Altered Book Inspiration board on Pinterest.

I tore out about a third of the pages.

Then started gluing and taping...

A treasured Mother's Day card in the shape of a cat and an origami girl

This bookmark makes me laugh every time!

One of my favorite Maxines from an old calendar with 2 of my favorite coffees

flip open the mail art to find a stack of papers and cards hidden beneath

Getting thick!

What UFO's are you tackling or putting off this week?

  2. Oh, I really love what you've done to that book...it's made such a unique piece of art. I think it's great that papercrafters use old books..they'd only go into landfill or be pulped. Why not use them to create something new?

  7. That is very cool but I don't think I would have the courage to do that to the book. I would have to read it and put on a shelf. I collect old books so there you go. It's really cool, my daughter would LOVE it.

  8. What a little treasure you have created there. So many memories tucked into what would otherwise remain to get dusty on a shelf, unloved. x Jo
