A Focused Journey: Finding a focus on the other side of 50.

I believe everyone’s life has a purpose. We are here to discover that purpose then use whatever gifts were bestowed upon us to make this world a better place. Some of us are fortunate as we know at an early age what that purpose is. Others, well, we go along, often digressing from the road that will take us there. This is me. Now on the other side of 50, I am finding my way back to that road that will lead to my life’s purpose. Welcome to my journey.

Get up. Get dressed. Paint. Not feeling it...

I look forward to Saturday all week. It's my one morning to escape my all too consuming teaching job and have fun painting in my art journal. But this morning I simply wasn't feeling it. Still recovering from a bad bout of flu, my creative energy wasn't coming up with anything to paint. Rather than give up I searched through my Heart Inspiration board on Pinterest for something not too fussy yet still inspiring. Drawn by the layering of the bright colors I chose THIS art journal spread to recreate. When finished I decided to add more layering with stencil and splashes of fluorescent pink.

What do you do when you are faced with a lack of creativity energy? I hope you will share your experience and insight so we can encourage each other along the way.
