What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday

While my desk isn't especially messy, it has been busy!

Allistair's favorite spot, which is smack dab in the middle of wherever it is I'm working!
And there are times when it's impossible to get anything done because someone seems to be impeding progress!

I created my first art canvases:

You can see the process HERE at my monthly link party, Stop Pinning & Make Something!

I've been getting up every Saturday morning to paint.  I call these sessions Get up. Get dressed. Paint.
You can read about it HERE.

Swapping

These tags are for a tag journal.  While only required to create one 2 sided tag, my partner, who lives in Hawaii, was a former Michigander and U of M fan.  I used an old desk calendar.

While I love working in other people's journals for journal swaps, I am not always fond of the "journal" they decided to use.  This round I had to work in one of those dollar store notebooks where the paper is thin and easily torn.

To keep with her theme I glued down a decorative table napkin (to keep it light) with butterflies, used a light modeling paste, quotes and butterfly diecuts.  I created the tag because I felt bad that I could not do much more than this.

I have 4 ATC's left for the anniversary exchange. Email me if you are interested.  For those who emailed me last week, I got those in the mail and they should be arriving soon.

Joining up with What’s on YourWorkdesk?Wednesday where desk snooping is not only allowed but all part of the fun!

  4. Hi Diane, your canvases are beautiful. Awesome. Just followed your link re making stuff from our Pinterest boards! I will be joining you, I keep saying I need to start using them rather than just pinning, lol. I finally did one yesterday, so I'll add the link to it later. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #9 xxx

  6. Get up, GET DRESSED: that must be why all my nightgowns have paint all over them. I forget the dressed part. Sure like what you did, though. That is one beautiful and colorful journal entry.

Bleubeard is jealous of Alistair. He's not allowed in my craft room because cat fur and crafting don't mix. I suspect Alistair is more civilized and doesn't shed on everything like Bleubeard does.

Thanks for your visit while I slept. Happy WOYWW from # 5.

  7. Hi Diane! I love the pinterest idea - I may just join your linky party! I like what you made, but I've been using texture paste for a few months now - I'm over it! I did a lot of it with the Donna Downey pages from her workshop. I LOVE your painted journal - so vibrant and colorful! Thank you for the ATC and postcard - both are on my blog! - thanks for sharing! 8. You look very industrious there, Diane. I love the idea of getting up and painting, trouble is my bed pulls at the weekend after getting up early all week.
Thank you so much for your lovely card and ATC, I love them both.

  10. You certainly have done lots of projects and your canvasses are lovely. You did a fantastic job with the journal, even with the thin paper.
    Have a great week,

  11. Wow it is all so PRETTY. Love the canvases. I agree with the idea that we should all do less gathering of inspiration and actually make stuff and inspire others. But it can be hard to find the time! Get up - get dressed - just do it! Paint, journal, scrap, sew, craft, whatever. JUST DO IT.
Words to live by, if hard to stick to for some of us :)

    Happy WOYWW!

  12. Hi Diane. Your ATC arrived today and it's lovely, thank you so much. Allistair is lovely but obviously needs more attention and if he doesn't get it neither will anything else Lol!
Happy crafting and have a nice woyww even though I am a bit late this week, Angela x 27

  15. Oh beautiful kitty! He's gorgeous!
Congrats on that journal page. That thin paper would have made it difficult.
Your canvas looks great too! Thanks for swapping, such fun!

  17. Ah so good to see someone who is my alter ego...getting up and doing it instead of just talking or thinking about it. Blooming good for you gal..not only inspiring but beautiful results. I'm sure the thin page journal owner will learn how restricting it was for you arty mixed media types....you are a very kind and patient gal.

  18. Love the pretty spring colors of your journal in the top photo. I totally want to pet your kitty. My Cindy has been "helping" me a lot lately. She says she is going to be an artist someday. You've been keeping busy doing lots of stuff. Love the tags, the canvas and your get-up-and-paint projects. Great job motivating yourself. The thin journal is neat but yeah, notepaper isn't the best to work with. You did great with what you had to work with. Judy #56
