A Focused Journey: Finding a focus on the other side of 50.

I believe everyone’s life has a purpose. We are here to discover that purpose then use whatever gifts were bestowed upon us to make this world a better place. Some of us are fortunate as we know at an early age what that purpose is. Others, well, we go along, often digressing from the road that will take us there. This is me. Now on the other side of 50, I am finding my way back to that road that will lead to my life’s purpose. Welcome to my journey.

My Word for 2018: Focus

The aftermath.

After long hiatus from painting, it feels good to paint in my art journal again and make a creative mess.

Used silver thread to hang the stars and Liquid Chrome pen to outline each star.

First time using DecoArt's Neon Lights fluorescent paint. These are beautiful colors to work with.

Good word and one I have used before. My word this year is "trust". Love your journal spread with the dangling stars holding your word! Vibrant and uplifting. Happy New Year and happy PPF!

Yes I do and it's hope. Focus was actually my first word that I chose when I began doing WOTY and I still have it hanging in my art room!

i do have a word for 2018.. .i have lots of the picked out but the main one i am focusing on is mindfulness.... i am so glad you have dug out your paints again and are sharing with us at Mixed Media Monthly challenge.... it is so important to take the time and be creative.... i too am on the other side of 50 and am loving it!!

One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice--
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.

You knew what you had to do,
