Get up. Get dressed. Paint. : Transformation

Starting out with a a tidy desk after the disastrous morning from last Saturday

After posting, I decided to spread gesso over the entire spread in an attempt to tone down all that purple spray ink.  Still hating it, I felt like it was a hopeless mess so I walked away and spent the rest of the morning cleaning up all that spilt coffee and putting away supplies that had accumulated on the craft desk.

Have you seen this new paint?  It's rather pricey; $9.99 at Joanns, $8.51 at Hobby Lobby.  There are about 10 colors but I had my eye on this purple. I purchased it with a 50% off coupon I had been hoarding.

With a fresh perspective, a full mug of coffee, and the new paint I transformed that disaster into this:

In the light the paint took on a bluish tone. That leaf is real.  I painted it last fall but never used it.

On this tag the pink tone is more prevalent.

I'm still asking for suggestions for a title for this new purple journal.  Go Here to enter.  These are the spreads I have created thus far:

  4. You sure know how to make purple appealing. I just love your spreads. So spring! I also really thing you made beautiful backgrounds too. I know they are just backgrounds but they are really well done and are abstract art in themselves. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Hugs-Erika
